My first blog

I have been advised to start a blog for various reasons; namely the fact that from time to time, interesting and useful information seems to find its way into my life and I can't help sharing it with the people I know. Despite the fact that I have never quite grasped the idea behind blogging, here I am testing it out for the first time, in the hope that it will get me somewhere somehow some day. Trying to find a suitable name and design was a difficult process thanks to my indecisive nature when spoilt for choice, so here I am going ahead with it, trying to launch it already......here goes!
