Tweet Tweet

Twitter fans, you've gotta find a TweetingSeat for your next Tweet.  TweetingSeat was created by Product Designer Chris McNicholl and is an original interactive park bench. The concept aims at connecting the digital world with the physical seating-in-the-park experience. The bench logs its usage by uploading images of its users and environment to a live Twitter feed, allowing people to interact with it both in person and virtually.

Each time someone sits down, TweetingSeat uploads an image from two cameras to the Twitterfeed. One camera is located on the bench looking at the surrounding space, and another is located nearby looking at the people who use it.

It's all in your hands

Attention! Creative minds of the UAE. If you have busy hands, a robust visual vocabulary, a tendency to imagine yourself in a vivid parallel universe or just the hankering to make funny shapes in shadow before turning out the lights at night, then you've got to join Movement UAE - a rare hybrid of performance arts piecing together its visual department, and opening its doors to Video Jockeys, editors, artists, filmmakers, sculptors, photographers, lomographers, and creative ideators in the UAE.

Not creative yet still want to lend a hand? Try Being Instrumental - with some out-of-the-box instruments being built for the choir, they're looking for everything from old unusable things like broken furniture, old toys, cycle wheels, static-y transistors, rat traps, old luggage, clocks, tumblers, empty paint cans...basically anything that makes interesting sounds, be it percussive or melodic that are collecting dust in your garage or on the top shelf of that cupboard. With a few nuts and bolts, your little contributions can help create substance out of scrap. So bring out those step ladders, rummage those closets and bring us the seemingly unusable.

Join the Movement. April 13, 2011 - 19:30 to 21:30.
